Dexcom G7 for a child: sensor first, teddy second

G7 stays on the child

Dexcom G7 is the prescribed continuous glucose monitor. The child still wears that sensor. GluBear does not measure glucose, does not insert, and does not replace G7 alarms. If the clinic prescribed G7, that device remains the medical layer. A teddy cannot be a second sensor.

How GluApp is designed to read Dexcom

1. The child wears G7 (or G6) as prescribed.
2. Dexcom Share is set up the way Dexcom documents it. Follow stays on grown-up phones.
3. GluApp is designed to read that Dexcom share (G7 and G6). No extra GluBear sensor.
4. The smart GluBear shows green, yellow, and red lights from the same share. Squeeze-ear check-ins are play, not a fingerstick substitute the clinic still needs.

Keep G7 alarms and Follow

Do not turn off G7 urgent-low alerts because the bear glows. Do not drop Dexcom Follow because a grandparent is in GluApp. Many families run both. GluBear is a general-wellness secondary display. G7 remains the primary alarm. See G7 is the sensor.

Libre and Nightscout

Families on Abbott FreeStyle Libre use LibreLinkUp the same way: medical alerts on the Libre stack, GluBear as a companion light. Nightscout is also in the designed-for list. The rule does not change with the brand: the CGM measures; the teddy translates.
