G7 measures. The teddy only shows a color.

If the question is “does it work with G7,” the answer is: G7 stays on the arm. The bear is a second language for the same share.

  • Green: in range
  • Yellow: check soon
  • Red: needs attention

One sensor

Families searching “Dexcom G7 teddy bear” are often asking whether they need a second device stuck to the child. They do not. G7 is the sensor. GluBear is a light language for a share that already exists.

Share, then color

GluApp is designed to read Dexcom Share, including G7 and G6. The numbers stay on G7 and in Follow. The plush shows green, yellow, or red. If Share is odd in your house, email hello@myglubear.com rather than assuming the teddy replaces the app Dexcom already gave you.

Alarms do not move

G7 urgent-low stays on. Follow stays on. The bear is allowed to glow. It is not allowed to be the only thing that wakes someone. Longer version: Dexcom G7 for kids.

Keep the CGM as the medical layer

GluBear is a general-wellness, educational secondary display. It is not a CGM, insulin pump, or primary alarm, and it is not intended to replace medical advice.

More notes

  • Confidence with Type 1 is practiced, not assumed
  • The point of new diabetes tech is fewer hard moments, not more screens
  • Why a young child sees a color, not a number
  • What GluBear is for, and what it must never be
  • The child can sleep. The CGM cannot.
  • The useful gift is the one the parents can live with
